Greetings Portland Skaters Everywhere, To all 16 or so skaters who came out to the Tuesday Night Skate, thank you for coming, it was great fun. I hope you enjoyed yourselves. It was a great night to stay cool on skates. We were blessed with a cool breeze and several new faces! Starting off with an introduction session and an impromptu photo shoot at the Salmon St. Fountain, courtesy of Nancy Hartman, we skated a brisk pace down the Willamette Bike Path with a few pauses for regrouping. Nancy and Andrew each trading one-upmanship over how well they were skating. A lot of enthusiastic discussion generated interest of the upcoming August Midsummer Night City Bike Tour / Skate Tour, and who was going to participate. So, did we decide on breakfast after the skate at Bryns place? Ive got the waffle iron! Anyway, details TBD. Kudos to Charley for organization and participation in a round the fountain skate/foot race with an anonymous skater and several barefooted children. This provided entertainment for us and any fountain onlookers. That was a great skate. Cant wait for the next one, tomorrow night (Thursday) 7:00 at the Eastside Esplanade, parking lot North of the Hawthorne Bridge. Get ready to do some route exploration for the August Midsummer Night skate event. Hope to see you there! Cheers! Michelle Ciao, Michelle |
